Second nitpicking problem – I’ve seen better world building. All the nitpicking aside, there are some interesting bits in this book, but here’s where the conflict comes from, at least for me. To me, like I’ve said, East is flawless. This knowledge she gained from her mother and an older neighbor. If anything, the Troll Queen is an anomaly among her kind, especially as trolls keep humans as servants. Its lengthiness could discourage reluctant readers while its fundamental weaknesses may irritate stronger eas. Of course, she cares for him, but the extent of her feelings are hidden even from herself until much later in the story.

Words fail me when I try to describe an extraordinary book; indeed, there is no part of this book that was not amazing, and thus there is no part that I can describe well. Like Rose, the Troll Princess’ closest relationship seems to be with the male member of her family her father; her sin is not respecting him.
Overall, I loved this book just as much as I loved the ddith one. But, wait, you say, wasn’t their first son’s name Tuki?
The Dark Days Deceit. West is more of a slow burn, but all the more enjoyable for it’s measured pace and studied character development. The strong connection between Rose and Charles is challenged, but their determination and devotion to one another is clear. Loved every moment, for the most part. But the new characters, the new villains, the new magic all had me desperately in love with this world again, missing Rose and her white bear even as I was reading about them again.
The ice castle was probably my favorite part. Actually, in Pattou’s world trolls are attractive and look like humans, except they have hard, woody skin. I really hate reading things digitally, and don’t currently have a way to do so except on my laptop, but I immediately downloaded this book because I needed it in my hot little hands asap.
Aest the sad thing is he I’m pretty sure it was a he really did – I had trouble believing that any of these characters would do anything that didn’t come directly from their plot-mandated ‘personalities’. To rescue him, Rose traveled to the land that edirh east of the sun and west of the moon to defeat the evil Troll Queen.
Over the next few weeks, Rose becomes more comfortable in the Bear’s presence. Fear not, because West is every bit as beautiful, magnificent and wondrous as East.

Though the details edithh different, it tracks the same basic plot a little too closely. You’re always left watching the door. Refresh and try again. Unfortunately, this retelling doesn’t quite do it justice. This was a pivotal scene that changed the dynamics between the Captain and Rose.
