Is dBuV any greater than what Wineguard claims as the safe level for its amplifiers with a one channel load? Does that monstrosity also amplify four bands of L-band satellite?

I believe the Kitztech KT is such an amplifier. In less cataloog a week, most of these Televes antennas from Solid Signal have sold out.

They have ordered a new shipment of the larger DAT versions which should be available again in a few weeks. Televes reportedly makes good antennas and is known for the triple boom yagi.

The KT is a two-stage amp with a variable attenuator between the stages. FWIW, I know that as recently as a few years ago, a lot of European amplifiers still used analog signal levels in their ratings, which grossly inflated them. This amplifier is a seriously bad idea. This amplifier design doesn’t let the user teleces, or to utilize the fruits of his thinking. Are there any current models of preamplifier that have manual gain adjustments that are not just input attenuators?

I’m sure I would hope that these values have been adjusted for the wider, European channel bandwidth. It looks like the table is showing that with such an input load, the maximum output level or each channel would be 17 to 18dB below that.

When trying to salvage or sustain a weak signal in the presence of a stronger one there is no ideal, cumulative wattage level. I haven’t had cause to analyze the architecture of preamplifiers with manual signal level controls lately. So could help in problem areas, but the 91XG and a Juice preamp may be suitable and more affordable, as teleevs Televes is more expensive and not widely distributed in the US.

I can barely conceptualize how that could even be physically possible if the gain adjustment configuration is interstage attenuation, as ADTech reports. Solid signal is promoting them, saw them for sale there today.

So could be very good feature when dealing with a mix of strong and weak signals, if it truly works. Looks like gobbledegook to me. Originally Posted by tylerSC. I could see a problem like that developing if someone working in the field kludged together his own, two stage amplifier, but I can’t for the life of me figure how a manufactured product could develop more noise when operating in a lower gain mode.

When there’s overlap you don’t get any gain because the same signal appears on each section. I’d like to chime in to point out that the new Televes US models filter frequencies above MHz and ship with a UL listed power supply unit.

AVS Forum articles Contests. I used to have a math teacher who was really committed to “rote”. And nice to see Solid Signal now carrying Televes products and decent prices. They are, all of those filter above CH52, MHz.

I performed measurements on it at different gain settings and wasn’t impressed.

You heleves just come in here every day and do whatever you want and I’ll give you your B”. Unfortunately there are few products available to do this, and they require equipment to tune properly.

The noise figure begins to degrade below a gain of 30 dB, 3dB at 20 dB of gain and is between dB at 15 dB gain. This new version apparently is more designed for current spectrum, and has built in preamp with LTE filter. What are all of those other F-connectors for?

Here is one way it might be possible. Supposedly the built in Boss-Tech preamp has automatic adjustable gain to prevent overload and adjust accordingly to the signal strength needed to receive a specific RF signal.

I’m not going to try to teach you anything else.

I think they were a bit surprised they sold out so quickly. I remember that with most 30dB power amplifiers, the so called “level” or “gain” adjustment was just a variable attenuator on the signal input path, whereas the higher gain power amplifiers actually had two stages of amplification, with the cqtalogo in between the stages.
